(Try this late night thought on for size. :)
Ego: It thrives on control, distorted expectations, deceit, worry, anger, fear, pain, insecurity, possessiveness, materialism and hopelessness. It will risk and compromise personal values, integrity, worth, esteem and authenticity. It works very hard to keep you in a constant state of illusion and distorted 'reality', fearing loss of 'identity', image and control.
It will go to insane lengths trying to convince you love is behind heart ache when in truth love doesn't hurt. Love is Godly. Love is pure. Love is blissful genuine ecstasy that feels amazingly right.
Most of the pain we experience is amplified by ego's insecurity, expectations, control and conditions. With daily mind/ego/spirit inventory we can learn to identify and defuse, reducing the intensity and lasting affect of pain.
As humans; hurt happens. As awakened souls we transcend it.
Ego is the walls we see when we are looking for the door. It is the invisible man lassoing us down as we try to rise above. It is the shadow from behind as we walk towards the light.
Ego is the erratic 'falty wiring' inside our minds central operating center. Most of our souls have just been sitting, waiting for us to listen to the goodness within our hearts, to inspire us to start unplugging the wires twisting through our minds...one, by one, by one.
Without egos dominance, there is balance and clarity. Blocks start crumbling, doors start opening. Passages between mind, heart and soul slowly start clearing of life long debris. As the debris clears; so does the dusty fog revealing the bridge home.
